A bit 'of history
In the early 2000 the reduction of hours flown by general aviation (and GA) EU to America and became a sad evidence. The reason was easily identifiable in the high costs of certification of the machines and the increasing costs of fuel AVGAS.
This phenomenon led him to create, in 2004, a new class (the LSA) that, interpreting the requirements of the market, sowed the seeds for the rebirth of the AG. The LSA, spread throughout the New World as Oceania and South Africa, has created a thriving market sector in which many European companies (also Italian) invested with good results.
The reaction of the EU
The phenomenon could not even impact the EU Market, albeit with a little 'delay. In July 2011 EASA has formally issued the certification scheme known as CS-LSA (ove CS sta per Certification Specification). Bureaucratic delays have led to EASA Type Certificate issued on 1 until April 2012 right to CZECH AIRCRAFT SPORT (cert. No EASA A.546). The CS-LSA is based on the American one but, at the same time, introduces some degree of freedom in more (i.e. retractable landing gear and propeller PVV) and outlines the organizational characteristics of companies in a very professional (imposes the necessity of the Design Organisation Approval DOA and POA Production Organization Approval).
