Ethiopian Airlines entra in Star Alliance

During the official ceremony held today at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, il Chief Executive Board (CEB) Star Alliance, the airline alliance with the widest network of the world, welcomed as a third carrier Ethiopian Airlines to the alliance based on the African continent."Today we made a significant step forward in the strategic process aimed at strengthening the alliance's presence in Africa" ha Annunciato Jaan Albrecht, CEO of Star Alliance. "
Con Ethiopian Airlines, The Star Alliance network of connections extends, to cover the most important commercial cities of the continent and policies, especially in East Africa, Central and Western. In totale, i 16 member carriers operating in Africa have more than 750 daily flights to more than 110 destinations in 48 African countries, con Addis Abeba, Cairo and Johannesburg as a major hub.

Hoisting of Vega's Zefiro-23 second stageThe integration of the first, second and third stage of the Vega was completed to the space port in Kourou European, in Guyana Francese. The new pitcher goes at full speed toward its maiden flight scheduled for late January 2012.
The campaign to launch the Vega first began in November with the installation and testing within the first stage of the mobile tower, P80 solid rocket motor to be 100 tons, Interstage and structure 1/2 connecting the first two stages.  

The final qualification of the engine test system included the thrust vector control. The large nozzle was rotated to simulate different flight profiles. Were also performed functional tests of the avionics and electrical interfaces.
