This morning, an M-346 Master fell into the sea near Deira Palm Island, a Dubai, on the way back to Italy from “Dubai Air Show”, concluded yesterday. The two pilots, unharmed, have had to eject to avoid the worst. The aircraft was destroyed.
According to local press, Alenia Aermacchi, a spokesman said that it is a prototype used by the military and is not for sale.
The case has opened an investigation and an internal committee was established to better understand the causes of the problem. The spokesman added that representatives of Alenia Aermacchi are working with local authorities through the Italian Embassy in the UAE.
