Emirates orders for Airbus and TAM

Airbus announces new important orders from two customers. Emirates Airlines has signed a contract with Airbus for the purchase of additional 32 A380 aircraft, while TAM, the largest Brazilian airline, has signed a letter of intent to purchase 20 new Airbus A320 and five A350-900.

Emirates signature order for other 32 Airbus A380

A380 Emirates Airlines, airline based in Dubai, has signed an order for more 32 Airbus A380, bringing the total number of firm orders for this aircraft symbol 21 st century 90 specimens. The order value amounts to price list 11,5 billions of dollars. The agreement was signed during a ceremony held today at the Air Show in Berlin, the presence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President and CEO of Emirates Airlines His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum and Airbus President and CEO Tom Enders.

After delivery of first A380 in June 2008, Emirates currently operates 10 aircraft connecting eight international destinations, incluse Londra Heathrow, Toronto, Paris, Jeddah, Bangkok, Only, Sydney e Auckland. All of the Emirates A380 aircraft are equipped with Engine Alliance GP7200 engines and delivered to Hamburg.

The in-service A380 fleet has accumulated more than 15.000 hours of commercial flight and its players have enjoyed the popularity obtained using consensus among the passengers, the highest occupancy levels and the higher profitability. With a range of 8.300nm/15.400km, and the possibility to transport by 400 a 800 passenger, The A380 is the ideal solution to relieve traffic congestion at airports, cope with growth and minimize environmental impact. To date, Airbus has received for the A380 234 firm orders from 17 customers.

Summer Mediterranean Air Europa

AgustaWestland and Boeing for the U.S. presidential helicopter program

image Finmeccanica annuncia la sigla dell’accordo tra AgustaWestland e Boeing Company per il programma elicotteristico statunitense Marine One della U.S. Navy (VXX).

A Boeing i diritti per l’impiego della proprietà intellettuale, dei dati e dei diritti di produzione AgustaWestland al fine di procedere alla integrazione dell’elicottero AgustaWestland AW101 in un prodotto Boeing per il programma VXX.

AgustaWestland avrà un ruolo nello sviluppo del programma e una significativa quota di progettazione e produzione. “Finmeccanica e Boeing vantano quarant’anni di proficua collaborazione”, ha dichiarato Pier Francesco Guarguaglini, President and CEO of Finmeccanica.

Finmeccanica receives order from 319 million dollars for more 8 C-27J for the U.S. Air Force

image Finmeccanica, through Alenia North America (company Alenia Aeronautica) received an additional order 8 C-27J JCA (Joint Cargo Aircraft) for the U.S. Air Force, the value of 319 million dollars.

It’ expected that these aircraft are delivered to L-3, Finmeccanica's U.S. partner, during the 2012. Under the agreement signed in June 2007, to supply the Army and Air Force of the United States of a new tactical transport aircraft, Finmeccanica has received, to date, orders for a total 21 Aircraft C-27J, for a total of 812 million dollars.

In Parallel, for the U.S. Congress is currently the approval of the U.S. military budget 2011. This budget, which has been investigated by a committee of Congress in key, include 351 million dollars 8 additional aircraft C-27J. With the budget next year, The U.S. government has purchased 29 C-27J aircraft from 2007, generating 1,16 billion dollars in revenue for Alenia North America, American Society of Finmeccanica.

Double gold for Italy of the European paragliding

Foto Paragliding, Austria, Salzburg, AbtenauDouble gold for Italy of the European paragliding: Luca Donini, Molveno (Trent), e la nazionale italiana si aggiudicano i titoli individuale ed a squadre per la seconda volta in pochi anni.

Gli altri azzurri: Aaron Durogati (Merano, Bolzano), Joachim Oberhauser (Termeno, Bolzano), Christian Biasi (Rovereto, Trent), Alberto Vitale (Bologna), Martina Centa (Feltham, Belluno), il CT Alberto Castagna (Cologno Monzese, Milan) e l’aiutante Giorgio Corti (Suello, Lecco).

I campionati si sono svolti ad Abtenau in Austria, non lontano da Salisburgo. Vi hanno preso parte 143 drivers from 33 nazioni che sui monti circostanti avevano a disposizione apposite aree di decollo tra i 1600 and 1832 m. Ovviamente i parapendio, sfruttando le correnti d’aria ascensionale, hanno raggiunto quote ben più elevate, talvolta fino a 3400 m, con forti ratei di salita (9 m/sec) specie sulle pareti dellimponente massiccio montuoso del Dagstein.

Inclementi le condizioni del tempo: pioggia e neve hanno costretto gli organizzatori a convalidare solo tre giornate di volo delle dieci previste, sospendendo le altre. Donini ha vinto due manches su tre; l’ultima, grazie anche ad un brillante terzo posto di Biasi su un percorso di oltre 134 km, è stata determinante per tutta la squadra. Alle spalle gli azzurri lasciavano Austria, Slovenia e Francia, mentre il nostro regolava l’austriaco Alex Schalber, second, ed il polacco Rafal Luckos, terzo.
