Ryanair ready to suspend domestic flights in Italy

Due to a clash with the Civil Aviation Authority because of the way on the identification of passengers , Ryanair says it will suspend its operations in Italy from 23 January.

The suspension will remain in force until the Civil Aviation Authority will revoke his directive , requiring Ryanair to accept other forms of identification of passengers over a passport or national identity card .

The airline says it will fight the directive before an Italian court , the Council of State .

This is unacceptable for Ryanair , for our crews and passengers, " , says the CEO of a low-fare airline Michael O'Leary.

flights from 10 Italian bases in Alghero , Bari, Bologna, Toast, Cagliari, Milan (Bergamo), Pescara, Pisa, Rome (Ciampino), Trapani would be interested unless a solution is found .
